A Valentine's Day Wedding

Claire is a fun and spunky young woman and Dan, is just as sweet as can be. The two married on the most romantic day of the year; Valentine's Day. It was 2024 and they held their wedding at the Diria Hotel in Playa Tamarindo. Their wedding guests were about 40 people, hailing from Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Ireland, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Virginia to show their love and support. I had the pleasure of officiating for these two love birds.

Both Dan and Claire’s parents were there to support their children in taking the next step in their lives to be married. Mack and Barbara have been married 37 years and Carol and Tom, married 49 years. These couples have been incredible role models for Dan and Claire, sharing their wisdom and an inspiration to all of us. The couple requested an Irish prayer and a sand ceremony. Claire sparkled in her silver sequin and white, dress, holding purple flowers and Dan wore a purple tie and boutonniere. Their guests got to enjoy photos in the wicker heart display, in front of the ocean and drink cold coconut waters with their names engraved on each pipa. It was a truly lovely affair.

Stephanie did an amazing job as our officiant! She took the time to get to know us in advance, which helped her get an understanding of our background, our beliefs, and the overall vibe we were looking for. She provided tons of guidance, along with helpful suggestions of things we hadn’t even considered but ended up including. The ceremony was very personal and exactly what we were looking for; a perfect mix of sentiment and laughter. Our special day wouldn’t have been the same without her!
