Everyday Heroes Tie the Knot

John and Elizabeth met while studying environmental law in the United States. Both highly intelligent people, who were committed to their studies and passionate about making a positive change in the world. They dated for 11 years before taking the vows with me as their officiant on Feb 24, 2024. The ceremony was under the beautiful tree at Pangas in Playa Tamarindo. With about 24 guests in attendance, hailing from Boston, California, New Jersey, Chicago, DC, Florida, Ireland and even France, they made their commitments to each other. These two work hard so that they can explore the world with amazing trips. They backpacked through Europe, bicycled thru Ireland, bike raced in Canada, climbed the Appalachian Mountains and more. I am sure their future will be just as adventurous. I am inspired and grateful for people like John and Elizabeth who are so dedicated to protecting the ecosystem, reducing greenhouse gas emissions,  as climate activists and environmentalists.  May we all take steps in the right direction to protect our planet as well as protect our partners. If we loved the earth as much as we love our spouses, we'd live in a better place. John and Elizabeth love the outdoors, nature, volcanos, hot springs, the rainforest, the beaches. These everyday heroes fight to protect them.

Back to the wedding... I played "Stand by Me" by Florence and the Machine (a beautiful version of the Ben E. King song) as she walked down the aisle. After their first kiss, they took photos with photographer, Jonathan Yonkers, while guests enjoyed cocktail hour and I sang romantic, beachy vibe songs. Pangas had a T-shaped setup of beautifully decorated dining tables and chairs off to the side of the restaurant where everyone enjoyed dinner as I continued to perform. They had a delicious looking buffet with a variety of delectables. Engraved with their name and date, were wooden fans for the guests to keep cool and remember the occasion. My favorite moment was watching Father and Daughter dance to me singing Van Morrison's "Brown-Eyed Girl". It was a lovely affair and an honor to tie the knot for John and Elizabeth.
